For Immediate Release

Author To Use Social Networking To Get Book Published

Atlanta, Ga – April 8th, 2011 - “You have to expect to do it all yourself, or it really will never get done” explains 25 year old writer David Blane. “And that’s ok! This is my pride and joy, if it means promoting and marketing myself, I will be happy to do it!” he said with a smile.

David Blane is what he calls a “Creative type”. The kind that thinks more than he speaks, to sum up his description. When asked about finding a publisher or agent to help with his book, The Story of Michael, he responded by saying, “I would love to work knowledgeable people. I know I’m the author, but the story is great. Anyone who can help me bring it to the readers, I will want to work with.”

His approach includes inviting people to his blog to talk about writing. Holding events every time he completes a ‘Phase’ of his book. He says, “They (the events) do two things. Make the writing process fun for everyone, and, more importantly, gives me a deadline. We creatives need those.” He said.

“I started off by spending time with other writer groups. Going to blogs, forums and social pages to ask for advice and help out where I could.” explains David. He says that treating this book as though it’s a source of community based workmanship inspires him to keep writing. “I am constantly writing, but I love looking back at what I’ve written for myself and telling people how they can do it to.”

David Blane say’s he hopes to have more helpful guides and information about writing on his website thestoryofmichael.com to give everyone more of a reason to visit his site.

Summary:

Michael, a young boy from a small town outside of the university city of Bard, lives with his Father Sam. Often traveling into the now colorless city of Harbold to sell his fathers gadgets. He finds the busyness of life and starkness of the city to be unappealing. It’s Home, but he feels fate pulling him to a new path.

One day he discovers simplicity in the warming rays from sun in a secret area near Harbold. A feeling so small and peaceful. It is carried with him for the rest of his life. A haunting reminder; there is something more.

As Michael journeys he becomes increasingly aware of is internal struggles while traveling to new cities and meeting people from far off lands. As he discovers his fate, destiny throws him into life altering situations which he must overcome.

Michael’s adventure begins with this book, The Story of Michael.

Note from David Blane:

I, as the author of The Story of Michael, am more excited then ever to get ready for my book. It’s been a long time in the making and represents a lot more to me then most would expect.

The story itself is a fantasy, realistic, nostalgic, heroic, sad, and all around well told narrative. From beginning to end it’s going to take you on a ride that (1) you would not expect and (2) enjoy more than you think.

For me, David Blane, the book is a summation of creative story elements and ideas that I have strung together over several years. The inspiration, however critical it is to me, could not be based any one instance. It’s more likely that this story helps me search places in this narrative and real life that connect. Hopefully for you as well.

Why a book?
I don’t think there is an easy answer to that question. Right now, I’m not foolish enough to try anything bigger then what I have in this book now. Creatively, it gives me much more freedom and I can be as ‘out there’ as I want. How did we become afraid to dream dreams, or scared to explore your life without fear or worry?

Tagline: Can you control your destiny?

Roughly after a year since the our final HoT spot premiere in Los Angeles, The Hero of Time (HoT) team released a video as a follow up and introduction to new projects by the creators of The Hero of Time, David Blane and Joel Musch.

We’ve got some news on future projects as well as a few updates to the site to help navigate to the buddy-sites for projects The Hero of Time’s creators are working on! The video is long overdue—we know. It was hard to contrive a video update without many things going on with The Hero of Time. But chin up cause its here! It features footage from the LA screening from last year, some behind the scenes funnies, as well as some really weighty banter of us on the couch!

Also, I want to welcome people from David Blane Studios. Sorry for the delay in getting a website set up and thanks for the support! Here is the latest video from my Youtube profile:

So that’s basically it for now. More to come soon. Video and more hopefully. In the meantime keep up with my progress easily on Facebook, Twitter and on this blog.
